Remove
|
- PSI is in the process of removing and replacing
old lighting fixtures with High Efficiency bulbs.
- By increasing the footage on our rolls of film,
PSI is able to remove unnecessary pallets from our system.
- With the implementation of a reusable tote system,
PSI has been able to reduce the amount of 55 gal. drums used for transport
and storage by over 50%

Reduce
|
- PSI has greatly reduced waste in our system and
what goes to the landfill, by using Continuous Improvement Manufacturing
Procedures along with our recycling efforts.
- PSI has reduced our overall power usage by using
high efficiency light fixtures and our Overall Equipment Efficiency
(OEE) tracking program helps us identify any inefficiencies in our
process.
- Slop solvent is reduced by either recycling or fuels
blending.

Reuse
|
- PSI reuses pallets, Cryovac film boxes and foam
packing material to avoid sending to landfill.
- In some cases our corrugated pads, shipping tubes,
foam padding and even computers & cell phones are donated to local
businesses or schools to reuse for projects or to trade for educational
materials.
- PSI reuses solvents when applicable for our process,
at all printing locations.

Renew
|
- PSI's Ink & Solvent waste is sent off for fuels
blending, where it is then used in cement manufacturing.
- PSI's oxidizer burns solvent waste for fuel to save
on natural gas.
- PSI's Idaho location uses new HVAC technology for
air circulation flow to cut energy usage.

Recycle
|
- All of PSI's locations have been successful in finding
ways to recycle most scrap and/or waste material: film, film cores,
wood pallets, cardboard, light bulbs, solvent, scrap metal. Our sustainability
team continues to look for new recycling opportunities.

Revenue
|
- Our OEE program has identified several cost cutting
and efficiency improving areas that we have already implemented. Additionally,
several sustainability initiatives have been established.
